Over the years, Marc has been involved in all aspects of building from foundations to roofs, landscaping, plumbing and electrical. He has since earned several diplomas and professional certifications in the construction industry.
Marc is a licensed Building Contractor in the state of North Carolina as well as a certified HERS rater and BPI Building Analyst. He also actively volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and is the company’s lead solar installer.
“I’ve always been a problem solver. I love trying to understand why something works a certain way and how I can either fix it when needed, or make it work better. I get really excited when the pieces fall together. Building sciences and the fields of Green Building and Energy Efficiency are a perfect fit for me. Being able to save homeowners money and get better value out of the home they are living in is very satisfying. As a father myself, I want to create healthy spaces for children to grow up in.”

Since joining Sundogs Solutions, Kanit has completed BPI training and has made over 100 homes more energy efficient. Building upon his experiences running the weatherization program for Sundogs Solutions, Kanit has taken on the roles of operations manager and quality assurance officer, ensuring that everything at Sundogs Solutions runs smoothly and that all work is completed to the high standards our customers have come to expect from us. Andrew Smith – Lead Building Analyst

Andrew graduated with a BA in Communication Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. Aside from being a returned Peace Corps Volunteer in Kazakhstan and a brief stint in social work, he has spent his working life in hands-on trades from restoring classic wooden motorboats, residential home renovations, to representing commercial construction suppliers.
Andrew is a BPI certified Building Analyst, NAHB Green Rater and a few short steps away from completing his HERS certifications. For Sundogs Solutions, he performs energy audits, estimates, and manages energy upgrade projects. Outside of work, Andrew likes to spend time with his little dog Miss Jane and his fiance Sarah in their garden, tinkering with old cars and boats, and building furniture from re-purposed materials.
Scott Edmond – Lead Architect

With six years of experience in the industry, Scott graduated in 2005 from Virginia Tech with a professional degree in Architecture and a minor focused on Environmental Design & Sustainability. Most recently Scott has completed NAHB’s Certified Aging in Place Specialist designation, which focuses on living in one’s home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level.
Scott is involved in all phases of each construction project, from the initial concept design to the finished product. First, he meets with clients to help flesh out what they are looking for in the design of their project. Then he actively draws up plans & 3D perspectives to help clients get a general feel for how their projects will look. He also creates permit drawings that meet all applicable building codes for a site, and works with the construction manager throughout the building process to ensure the design is carried out effectively.
