Solar Installations Shown To Increase Property Value

Are you thinking of selling your home and looking for ways to differentiate your home from the others around you? A recent study from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkely National Laboratory, has shown that homes with relatively new PV systems installed command a higher sales price than comparable homes without PV.

The study has found that on average the sales price is increased by $5.50 per watt installed. This is pretty close to the cost of installation, so you can enjoy the benefits of lower utility bills, lower carbon footprint, a better night’s sleep knowing you are doing your part to reduce our impact on the planet (some bragging rights here to be sure) and get your money back when you sell your house! Talk about win-win.
